“Blazing the trail of new (and not so new) media". The last ten years has arguably witnessed the most radical changes in the media and marketing landscape in modern business history. While much of this change has been driven by an explosion in new media channels, savvy marketers are also getting smarter about how they can use “old school” mediums like TV and newspapers to reach customers.

Bio: Tom Vogl joined the REI Leadership Team in August 2006 as Vice President of Marketing. REI Marketing includes a broad range of communications vehicles and has extensive in-house capabilities ranging from advertising, online and direct marketing to an in-house photo studio and creative services team. Prior to joining REI, Tom spent eight years with Dell, Inc. and held U.S. and global leadership roles in marketing, sales and e-commerce, most recently as Dell’s Marketing Director for the Asia-Pacific/Japan region, based in Sydney, Australia. Prior to Dell, Tom worked in retail, strategy and marketing roles at Conoco-Phillips. Tom is an avid outdoorsman and enjoys telemark skiing, cycling, rock-climbing and camping. Tom volunteers in his community, and currently serves as a Troop Co-Leader for Boy Scouts of America and is on the board of the Chief Sealth Boy Scouts of America.
